FAQ's1. Do you accept any kind of gold? At Hatton Goldsmiths we will buy all of your unwanted, damaged or broken gold. For a list of the typical items we buy just go to the ‘What we buy’ link on this website. 2. What do I get in my Gold Bag? A Gold Bag includes information detailing how simple it is to sell your gold. It also includes a prepaid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope to allow you to post your gold to us free of charge. This is fully insured up to £500. (See Q4) 3. Do you supply the Gold Bag free? Yes your Gold Bag is completely free and once you receive you are still under no obligation to send us your gold. The bag will contain a Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope that will have your unique tracking number. 4. When I send my gold will it be insured if lost/damaged in the post? Yes. As long as you use the Royal Mail Special Delivery mailing bag that we supply you with your gold will be insured for up to £500. However, in the event of a claim, you must make this direct with the Royal Mail. 5. How do I know my jewellery is safe? With stores and outlets all over the UK, Hatton Goldsmiths are a reputable Jewellery company with specialised gold buying sites. Hatton Goldsmiths are a family run business that has over 100 years of experience in the Jewellery sector. Our reputation is key to our success. As long as you use the provided Royal Mail Special Delivery mailing bag, you gold will perfectly safe in transit to us. 6. Is the Gold Bag insured? Yes. As long as you use the Royal Mail Special Delivery mailing bag that we supply you with your gold will be insured for up to £500. However, in the event of a claim, you must make this direct with the Royal Mail. 7. I think I have over £500 worth of gold. What should I do. If you believe that the total value of the gold you are sending to us exceeds £500 you could do one of the following: a) Request a second Gold Bag and separate your gold across the two bags. Remember, it costs you nothing for a second bag. b) Pay an extra insurance fee at the post office c) Visit one of our local Gold Buying Centres. Go to the Gold Buying Centres link on this website for all our store details. d) If you have one item worth over £500 we recommend that you either visit one of our stores or outlets or speak to your local Post Office to enquire about additional insurance. 8. How will I know if you have received my gold/jewellery? You can track the progress of your Gold Bag by clicking on the ‘Track your Gold Bag’ link on this website. This will give you a link to the Royal Mail tracking service. 9. What will I be paid for my gold? Your gold will be valued by one of our experienced valuers and will be based on the current day rate for gold. A cheque will be issued within 24 hours. If you are satisfied with the payment simply cash the cheque. 10. What if I am not happy with the valuation? If you are not completely satisfied with the amount you receive, just return the cheque to us with 10 working days and we will return the items to you free of charge. 11. Do I have to use your Gold Bag or can I use my own method to send? You can send your gold to use using your own method. However, we do not accept and responsibility for the safe delivery of your gold. If you choose to use your own method we advise that you take out suitable insurance. We use the Royal Mail Special Delivery service, which will insure your gold for up to £500. 12. Do you accept both hallmarked and un-hallmarked gold? Yes we do. On of our experienced valuers will check your gold for its carat value and base the valuation of their findings. 13. Do you buy gold bars? Yes we do but only if they carry a UK hallmark. 14. Do you buy gold coins? Yes we do. We will buy all kinds of gold coins and the value is based on the gold content/carat and weight. 15. Would you also buy any silver? No, I am sorry we do not buy silver, only gold 16. Do you buy gold plated or costume jewellery? No, I am sorry we do not buy anything other than gold |
